BlogHighEd.org MEME – Who am I?
I thought since many of you who are now following may have never heard of or personally know the bloggers on BlogHighEd.org we could try and introduce ourselves and give a little hello.
So here we go:
My name is Matt Herzberger, I am the co-creator of BlogHighEd with Brad J Ward. I hail from Cedar Rapids,Iowa. I am now living in College Station, Texas. I graduated from the University of Iowa in Dec 04.
So all about me, I am a recent college grad who worked in higher ed web design all through out college. I worked at a corporate firm that did college and university sites for most of my college years. So I know the corporate as well as the education side of college web design. I know the woes of how slow things move. One thing I have found is that complacency is totally accepted when working in higher ed but I hold myself to a higher standard.
Being that I am still young I feel like I have a fresh prospective on college marketing and I look to bring new things to higher ed web. So many people are so slow and have so many issues with adapting to social web but I have thrown myself whole heartedly into it. I have had the question from many people (how did you do…., who approved you to…) the answer is I just do it. I know this stuff works well and the more people I can convert the better.
Here is a photo of me is case we happen to be at a conference or something

FYI, I use Canon now :)
So members, let use know about yourselves.

Hey,
31 years in higher ed PR. My department’s won a lot of awards in various fields but I’m still learning everyday, especially from you guys who are just entering the field in the past five years. It’s an exhilarating time. I played in a country band, then a rock band for a lot of years. Wrote a novel, have two kids, now grown, and 3 dogs who are now our kids.
