MH_Tumblr - Wordpress Tumblr Theme
Here is a new wordpress tumblr theme that I created. My inspiration was the recent post about Gelato CMS by Matt Mullenweg. Where he mentioned the need for a tumblr theme for Wordpress.
This is my first wordpress theme release so go easy on me :)

MH_Tumbler Theme is a modified theme, based on one originally built by Richard Dunlop-Walters

Nice looking theme. So does MH_Tumblr support categories? I notice you don’t use them here, on your own blog, either.

Yeah it can support categories. I just took that out of the sidebar.php none of the default wordpress was disabled. I’m just not using certain parts. Just to clarify the reason for this theme and how basic it is, is that it is based of of Tumblelogs Take a look at the examples on that site. They are like a hybrid between a blog and twitter. Very minimal.

Cool.
I understand the minimalism of Tumblelogs. I’ve just felt that I’d want to be able to tag my entries so I can go back and find stuff after I’ve posted it. I could see myself using a Tumblelog much the way I use del.icio.us….

I gotcha now. I made some mods, they won’t be in the overall theme but here are the files. Take theses files and save them with the extension php, then overwrite:
single.php
and
sidebar.php

Oh, that’s super nice. I hadn’t gotten so far as installing your theme to give it a try. But now I really should! I’ve really just been looking around at what’s out there, so I can make some decisions about how to incorporate a tumblelog into my site and domain. I have to open a ticket with my host (textdrive) to set up a subdomain for the second install of WP I would need to actually do the WP tumblelog thing. Once I get that all going, I’ll give your theme a try, for sure!
